The Awesome Highlighter (yes, that’s what it is called) website provides one of the most convenient applications I’ve seen for marking up and commenting online articles of interest and then saving the links or even posting them to another application (such as Facebook, Delicious, Twitter, etc.). There’s also a Firefox add-on (scroll all the way down on the page already linked) that makes using Awesome Highlighter features even easier.
As a faithful reader of the New York Times, I’m intrigued by the possibilities with the TimesPeople beta Firefox add-on that was recently introduced. If you set it up to do so, this application also interacts with your Facebook account and I’m hoping soon with WordPress. Here’s the TimesPeople FAQ.
I am not much of a text messager - but everyone else seems to be into it. I’d usually prefer to respond via computer, using a keyboard - rather than trying to tap out all the letters on my phone keys.
That is why I think this Google Tools Firefox Send-To-Phone Extension will come in so handy. Now when someone sends me a text message, I can respond by just clicking on the little telephone icon in the corner of my browser.
These days it seems like I am using certain sites enough that I might want to always keep them available in my Firefox browser and prevent them from closing accidentally. Some of the sites I’m thinking of in this regard are Gmail, Google Calendar and Remember the Milk.
There are two Firefox extension/add-ons that look like they might be helpful in making these sites very immediately and constantly available without much fuss. One is called Permatabs and the other is called Faviconize.
