I have developed a weakness for old-school drafting/graphics art equipment. Here’s the latest toy to experiment with during art projects:

I prefer old-school equipment. Usually these items are built with very solid materials and are designed to last for a lifetime. A lot of the more modern drafting tables look like you could easily knock them over or break them.

My New Old Drafting Table

For the first time in my life I made a purchase from a Craigslist ad. A clear life milestone. Well, not really. The line in the ad that caught my attention read:

50’s oak drafting table (used to belong to the NYC artist who created Elsie the Cow for Borden) $50

I like old-school drafting tables. I was reluctant to leave one behind in my in-laws basement and have been hoping to find the right one for our apartment. This is it.
