A Composter for Christmas

A co-worker of mine is devoted to environmentalism and other good causes.  Last December she sent me an email with a link to a composter, suggesting that it might be a great gift to give someone for the holidays.  She may or may not have meant this as a joke.  A composter for Christmas?

But it dawned on me that this might actually be the perfect gift for my dad, who also is a bit of an environmentalist and supporter of good causes.  So yes, indeed, a composter for Christmas.  It is specially designed so that you can turn the compost easily – which is vital for proper decomposition.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the thought – but also got on the phone very quickly to speak with my Mom and sister about this possibility.  They both laughed as well and also agreed that this would be a great gift for Dad.

Now I finally have a picture.

I want a composter! Maybe not for Christmas, but I do want one. I think my dad would like it, too.

This would be the perfect gift for Bill. We used to compost, but it got to be too much trouble. Because he had to keep turning it. I think a better gift would be a smaller yard.

    Where have you been?

A fancy-dancy-schmancy high-tech composter is at the top of my wish list. But then I was one who owned my own garden tiller at the ripe young age of seventeen.

    BTW, congratulations!
