When I was growing up my dad used to make cracked wheat cereal for breakfast. I'm sure we ate it because my dad was in graduate school and we were poor--nothing like living on food storage!!

I love cracked wheat cereal. Hrm, I think I need to buy a wheat grinder so I can make some this weekend. YUMMY!!! :-)

Dan, I always knew there was something different about you. I never could figure out if it was your political views or something else. Now I know! :-)

It's been years since I've eaten cracked wheat or whole wheat cereal. I had to eat it with a lot of honey or raisins. I think I prefer oatmeal for taste but somewhere in the back of my mind I am very strongly persuaded that wheat cereal is the healthiest thing to eat on the planet.

I had to laugh when I saw this post because I'm sitting here right now eating wheat for breakfast. Whole wheat and cracked wheat are about the only healthy things one of my sons asks for.

I wonder what the scriptures say about those whose bodies now have no tolerance for wheat, like me. I've got dermatitis herpatiformis, a mild version of celiac. My body itches all over thanks to gluten. I guess there's a special place in hell for gluten-intolerant people who skip the wheat. :)

I say all that because when we lived out in Pennsylvania, we had a missionary couple visit our neck of the woods preaching the greatness of wheat, blah blah blah. When my wife told them that I couldn't eat wheat because of gluten intolerance, they really could not understand. Heh.
