I have argued for years that Led Zeppelin is from the 1960s. Give that 1970 is the last year of the decade of the 60s, for the same reason 2000 is the last year of the 20th century, their first three albums were released in the 60s.

In any case both bands (especially the Police) will be able to charge pretty much whatever they want for tickets and sell out stadiums across the world.

I think both bands formed in the late 70s, but they took off in the 80s. At least that's how I understand it. I could be wrong.

No reason to duck. :)

Just a nitpick--both bands are firmly 70s rock (or at least started in the 70s). Which explains why they're any good (i.e., they're not from the 80s).
