Ten Book of Mormon Trivia Questions

Some time ago, at my old blog site, I wrote a number of posts about Book of Mormon trivia. Most of these questions had to do with names and identifications. Since some time has passed, I thought it might not hurt to gather these questions in one place and revisit them.

I’ll put the answers in the comments later.

1. Six women are named in the Book of Mormon. Who are they?

2. Aha and Ahah. Who are they?

3. Cezoram and Seezoram. Who are they?

4. Amaron, Ammaron, Amoron and Ammoron. Who are they?

5. Who is Tubaloth?

6. In the book of Ether, chapter twelve, we are told that the brother of Jared spoke to a mountain and the mountain was “removed” by his faith. What is the name of the mountain?

7. Antipus and Antipas. One is the name of a man and the other is a name of a place. Which is which? Who is he?

8. How many epistles are in the Book of Mormon? Who wrote them and to who were they written?

9. Name twenty animals or non-human creatures that are mentioned in the Book of Mormon. Feel free to include mythical or angelic creature names that may appear. [Note: there are more than twenty mentioned in the Book of Mormon.]

10. There are at least eleven unique words associated with the Nephite system of weights and measures (of gold and silver) upon which the Nephite economy was based. How many of these words can you remember?

Well, off the top of my head, here are some responses:

    1. Eve, Sarah, Sariah, Abish, Isabel, Mary.

    2. (unsure) Ahah was a companion to some missionaries, perhaps the sons of Mosiah, and Aha was a Jaredite.

    3. Two Nephite chief judges. Seezoram was the one murdered while Nephi spoke from his garden tower.

    4. Ammoron was brother of Amaleckiah; Ammaron told Mormon where to find the records. The other two? Got me.

    5. Tubaloth was the son of Ammoron and nephew of Amaleckiah.

    6. Mount Zerin.

    7. Helaman and his 2000 warriors joined with Antipus’ army late in a battle against a Lamanite army. Antipus had been slain. Antipas was a hill.

    8. Ooh, let’s see. Moroni to Ammoron, Ammoron to Moroni, Helaman to Moroni, Moroni to Pahoran (2), Pahoran to Moroni, robber chief to Lachoneus, Mormon to Moroni (2), and I think there are some more that aren’t quoted.

    9. goat, she-goat, horse, curelom, cumom, lamb, cherubim, serpent, “beast”,

    10. senine, ooh, brain freeze. Good night.

mistaben, if that’s all of the top of your head, you did really well.

Thanks! My dad often had us play fun scripture-related FHE games, which was a lovely supplement to regular family scripture reading. One of my favorites has one person open up and start reading somewhere in the Book of Mormon. The first person to start reading along wins! It led to a smashing career in seminary trivia games.

I remebered a few more things:

    9. lion, cockatrice, fiery flying serpent (unlike the regular ol’ serpent), asp, calf, seraphim?
