Blick Art Materials - Excellent Customer Service

Yesterday in the mail I received 144 Prismacolor pens and 12 studio stackers in the mail from Blick Art Materials. I am very impressed with this company for a number of reasons.

First, they are reasonable. They offered a fair price on the markers — a better price than the local bricks-and-mortar art supplies stores.

Second, they are friendly. The three or four Blick customer service people I have spoken with actually talk to the customer. They strike the perfect balance between being professional and friendly. They clearly hire good people and train them well.

Third, they initiate follow up. When I made the order there was an omission in the mailing address. Someone from Blick Art Supplies figured this out on their own and went to the trouble of calling and leaving a message advising when the package would arrive. This felt like an extra level of customer support and attention because they didn’t wait for a customer inquiry on the matter.

Fourth, they trust the customer. When the package arrived, four of the twelve studio stackers were cracked in a manner that could not be repaired. I feel this is due to rough handling of the package by the mailing services rather than the company itself. After placing a call I was quickly informed that they would mail replacements without additional charges. The replacements arrived promptly in the mail.

Dick Blick really works to serve their customers and I intend to order from them again.
